There’s still no word on a star for the new series but ‘Sons of Anarchy’ creator Kurt Sutter will begin filming his new series ‘The Bastard Executioner’ in March…
It’s been just under two months since we said goodbye to Jax Teller and the Sons of Anarchy as Kurt Sutter’s outlaw biker drama wrapped up its seven season run as the most popular show in the history of FX.
Now Sutter is about to begin his new series for FX titled ‘The Bastard Executioner’, focused around a knight in King Edwards III’s army, who throws down his sword after seeing the ravages of war, but when war hits close to home again, he’s forced to wield his blade once again.
Sutter finished working on the pilot script recently and the writer/director traveled to Wales where he was scouting locations for the shoot. Sutter has stated in the past that the show would mostly take place in and around England and it looks like he’s found some locations that will suit ‘The Bastard Executioner’ when filming begins next month.
As far as casting goes, the only person confirmed for the show right now is Sutter’s wife and former ‘Sons of Anarchy’ star, Katey Sagal, who will have some role on the show although the extent of her involvement is unknown at this time.
Sutter will likely cast more local talent on his new series with the show filming overseas, but as of now there’s still no rumor on who might land the lead role as ‘The Bastard Executioner’.
Who would you like to see cast in the role? Will Sutter bring back anymore past favorites from either ‘Sons of Anarchy’ or ‘The Shield’?
