‘The Flash’ dropped a big Easter egg into the latest episode that may have revealed the villain for season 4…
When ‘The Flash’ returns for season 4 in the fall, for the first time ever the featured big bad won’t be a speedster going up against Barry Allen and now we might know who it is.
On the latest episode of ‘The Flash’ on Tuesday night titled ‘Abra Kadabra’, a magic wielding bad guy from the 64th century taunts Barry Allen about his greatest foes.
“Of course there’s Thawne, and Zoom, DeVoe, but none of them hurt you like Savitar.”
Eobard Thawne is the Reverse-Flash while Zoom is Hunter Zolomon from Earth-2, who tormented Barry a season ago. And Savitar is the “God of Speed” who has been going after Barry all season long this year.
But who is DeVoe?
It seems Abra Kadabra may have dropped a major hint about the next big villain to arrive in Central City if “DeVoe’ is actually Clifford DeVoe aka ‘The Thinker’ from ‘The Flash’ comics.
In the comics, Clifford DeVoe is a former attorney who turns super villain by using his intelligence and all manner of technology to commit his crimes before the Flash eventually stops him. DeVoe takes up the moniker of ‘The Thinker’ with his greatest creation — the Thinking Cap — a metal hat that can project mental force, telekinesis and even mind control.
The Thinker was also a member of the Injustice Society and even took up with the Suicide Squad in later years before his death in the comics after developing terminal brain cancer from use of the Thinking Cap.
Now of course there’s no telling if Clifford DeVoe will be the big bad in season 4, but it certainly seems like a nice hint dropped during the latest episode as ‘The Flash’ prepares for a non-speedster villain for the first time.
