In The Flash for the fall finale, The Trickster is back and he’s gunning for Barry but he’s bringing along some help this time….

So last week’s crossover was superb. How can the fall finale top it you ask? By bringing back the Trickster, Mr. Mark Hamill back. We will also see the Weather Wizard and Captain Cold all battle the speedster.
Aww how nice of Zoom, he chased down Harry to wish him a Merry Christmas. Papa Joe and Iris are out shopping and neither of them can figure out what to get Barry. Patty and Barry “heat” up Barry’s office but get interrupted by Iris. Iris breaks down and tells him that she has been keeping a secret. She explained to Barry how her mother told her that Joe has had a son all these years, Wally West… Barry sooths Iris’s fears and tells her that he will help tell Joe the news.
Cait and Jay talk shop, trying to close off the E2 holes. Cisco, and me, feel like throwing up over how tip toey they are about liking each other.
Weather Wizard brings in a snow storm to break out Cap Cold and Trickster. Trickster is beyond happy about it, insert maniacal laugh. Let the baddy party games begin…
From the scene alone Joe and Barry figure out who/what made the break out. Patty is not happy about Wizards return, he killed her father. Barry tries, and falls miserably, to keep her away. Trickster is cheery, and singing a happy tune, while Wizard explains his plan. Snart says he is in, but I think he is going to help Barry in the end. The team do some figuring on where to find the baddies.
Barry heads with Iris to see Joe. Iris explains the story to him. Joe immediately breaks down and asks further questions. He leaves for work feeling a bit indifferent about it all. Barry and Iris head home and Snart is waiting for them. See I told you…
Barry doesn’t take it very well, but Snart “cools” him off. Snart tells him about the plan, but not where they are. Barry fails at making/asking him to help. Barry heads to STAR labs to see how Joe is. Joe tells a story about how he “felt” something years ago when Iris was hurt. Joe blames himself for not knowing about his son. Spoiler alert: a super big feels moment as Joe tears himself down about not being a father for his son.
Trickster shows up on the stations TVs and sings a little tune for Flash. He is a bit angry at Barry. The team figures out a spot that he might be and Barry heads there to find Patty. They are soon surrounded by a whole mess of c4 dreidels.
Barry reverse tornados the both of them out before the toys blow. Flash gives a stay away speech to Patty, but she explains to him the real story on what happened that day. She is blaming herself, much like Joe, but Flash tries to help her.
Back at STAR labs Barry is trying to get ahold of Patty but nothing. Rut Roh something is up with Santa. He’s giving away early presents and is laughing instead of ho ho hoing in a jolly tone. Zoom shows up and asks if Harry made a decision. He asks for more time. No wonder Harry has been a dick again. What could Zoom want from him?
Oh no not Hector Pascals??? Barry finds Weather Wizard and confronts him. Martin “flies” away and Barry has to chase him down. Barry toe touches the blades of a heli as he finally catches him. The Trickster explains what he did all day. They give Barry the ultimatum of kill the families or let me kill you. Barry gives up the wand and lets Martin have at it. The team conjures up a plan to help, but Barry isn’t holding up well.
Martin blasts Barry with some lightning as Harry drives a bomb through the breach, hoping to pull them all through. The Trickster gets a turn on Barry, or almost does but the team lets him know about the bombs being taken care of. Patty show up after Flash stops Martin and the Trickster. She shoots Barry with some leg mobilizer thing and turns her gun to Martin…
A confrontation happens, but Barry/Flash gets to her just in time. Big sigh of relief, even the Trickster is moved. She arrests him instead of killing him. Joe explains to Barry that he is going to meet him. God damn Joe and Barry sure do know how to give us the feels. Joe gives Barry the watch that Joe’s father once gave him.
Barry confronts Harry, well outside of a window, hut He is actually talking to Harrison about all the bad he has done. Barry finally forgives him. I’m thinking Harry heard everything Barry said.
The team all parties it up. Jay messes with Cait again before giving her a little mistletoe kiss. Patty confides to Barry about her past. One final guest shows up to the party, it’s Wally…
Harry figures out Zooms plan, he even asks to see his daughter. Now he can’t say no, to Zoom’s request. TO STEAL FLASH’S SPEED!!
I was right, they did a good job following up the cross over show. Some fantastic fight scenes as well as bringing on some super heavy feels. I can’t wait until Jan. 19th
