The Flash season 2 ended with Tom Cavanagh aka Harrison Wells returning home to Earth-2 but he’s not gone for good….
A lot is expected to change when The Flash returns for season 3 later this year, but one major part of the show will definitely return regardless of the way things ended in season 2.
Tom Cavanagh — who plays Harrison Wells on the The Flash — will be back as a series regular for season 3.
At the end of season 2 — SPOILER ALERT — Harrison Wells returns to Earth-2 with his daughter Jessie after saying goodbye to Barry Allen and the rest of the gang from STAR Labs.
Obviously season 3 will be a dramatic shift, however, after Barry ended up traveling back through time to save his mother from the Reverse-Flash, which mimics the famous comic book storyline known as “Flashpoint”.
In that story, The Flash finally returns back to the moment when his mother was killed and he stops the event from happening, but in doing so, he sets off a chain reaction of events that forever changes his world and everybody else’s world around him.
So there’s a chance when The Flash season 3 returns, Harrison Wells — who was originally killed by Eobard Thawne on Earth-1 — actually lived. Or perhaps, Harrison Wells from Earth-2 returns after the events in Flashpoint reset the universe. Or there’s a third possibility where the Harrison Wells from Earth-3 makes an appearance.
The sky is the limit but we know for sure that Cavanagh will be back so gear up for an interesting twist when The Flash season 3 debuts this fall on the CW!
