‘The Leftovers’ has been a critical hit for HBO ever since first debuting although the show has struggled in the ratings. Still, HBO gave ‘The Leftovers’ a final season to close out the story with eight episodes debuting next year.
The third and final season was actually filmed on location in Australia with the majority of the cast and crew from season 2 set to return including Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, and Liv Tyler as well as Regina King and Kevin Carroll, who played a prominent role in the second season.
One big change for ‘The Leftovers’ final season is Scott Glenn being bumped up to a series regular playing father to Justin Theroux’s character Kevin Harvey after recurring in the first two seasons.
