Andrew Lincoln teases that Negan’s arrival on ‘The Walking Dead’ is welcoming the baddest of the bad guys….
When we last left ‘The Walking Dead’, Jeffrey Dean Morgan finally arrived as Negan — the leader of a faction known as ‘The Saviors’ and a force of nature like nothing we’ve ever seen on this show before.
Armed with his best girlfriend Lucille — a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire — Negan unleashes an elaborate plot to trap Rick and the other survivors before unveiling his existence to them in a chilling scene where he lays out the rules for the new world order.
“Give me your shit or I will kill you. Today was career day. We invested a lot so you would know who I am and what I can do. You work for me now. You have shit, you give it to me. That’s your job. Now I know that is a mighty big nasty pill to swallow but swallow it you most certainly will.”
So when season 7 picks up on October 23, the first big reveal will be who Negan chose to introduce to Lucille as he kills one of the survivors for crossing him while sending them a serious message about what happens if anyone crosses him again.
Andrew Lincoln — who plays Rick Grimes — says that Negan’s arrival is like nothing we’ve ever seen before on ‘The Walking Dead’. He’s the baddest of the bad and this is something ‘Walking Dead’ fans have been waiting to see for seven seasons.
“I think everybody got a sense of what this actor is capable of in the last episode. But rest assured that that’s really just the beginning of what Jeffrey is creating. It’s very impressive and it’s great fun to work with him,” Lincoln said.
“Without the baddest of the bad guys, it wouldn’t be the same show and I think it’s breathed a new terrifying life into the show, and at no better time. What an extraordinary thing, to wait seven seasons to reveal the baddest of the bad guys.”
There have been a ton of theories about who Negan killed to close season 6, but nobody at ‘The Walking Dead’ is saying much until the show returns on October 23.
Find out just how terrifying Negan really is when the show returns and stay tuned to Nerdcore Movement for recaps all season long as well as an in depth preview ahead of season 7!
