Well Michael Bay tends to screw up everything he touches but at least hiring ‘Walking Dead’ creator Robert Kirkman to write a new ‘Transformers’ spinoff seems like a good move….
Michael Bay is doubling down on his ‘Transformers’ franchise with a new brain trust of writers hired to pen multiple sequels as well as spinoffs of the billion dollar film series based in the 1980’s cartoon and toy brand of the same name.
Bay already brought in Akiva Goldsman to head up the group, but four new writers have just joined the team to help write some of the upcoming sequels as well as several spinoff films based in the ‘Transformers’ universe.
The biggest name on the list is Robert Kirkman, who of course is the creator and executive producer of the most popular series on television ‘The Walking Dead’ not to mention the ongoing comic book he still writes every month.
Kirkman is joined by ‘Iron Man’ writers Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, Zak Penn, who wrote ‘The Incredible Hulk’ and the upcoming ‘Pacific Rim 2’ plus ‘Lost’ writer Jeff Pinkner.
According to Deadline, more writers are expected to join the ‘Transformers’ team in the near future as well.
Now if we could only figure out how to get rid of Michael Bay and maybe these movies would have a chance of not sucking!
