Tilda Swinton is in talks to play the mentor to ‘Doctor Strange’ in the upcoming Marvel film starring Benedict Cumberbatch….
Tilda Swinton — best known for her roles in ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ and ‘Constantine’ — is in talks to play The Ancient One in the upcoming Marvel film adaptation of ‘Doctor Strange’.
The Ancient One (who was originally a male in the comics) is a mentor and advisor to Stephen Strange before eventually gifting him with the role as Sorcerer Surpreme.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel was seeking a male to play the role but decided to recast the part and went with Swinton as their top choice instead.
‘Doctor Strange’ stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role as Doctor Stephen Strange.
‘Doctor Strange’ is set for release on November 4, 2016.
