The latest superhero franchise to land on cable will likely be ‘Titans’ based on the younger superheroes of the DC Universe…
The superhero invasion on television isn’t slowing down because with ‘Agent Carter’ about to debut on ABC later this year, ‘The Flash’ on the CW, ‘Constantine’ on NBC and ‘Gotham’ on FOX, it appears TNT is ready to get into business as well.
‘Titans’ — based on the younger superheroes in the DC Universe including former Robin turned Nightwing Dick Grayson — is close to being brought to pilot as a one-hour live action series on TNT.
Akiva Goldsman (‘Batman Forever’) and Marc Haimes (‘The Last Word’) will serve as executive producers on the project should it go to series.
There are several different incarnations of the group but members in the past have included Robin, Superboy, Wonder Girl, Aqualad, Raven, Beast Boyand Kid Flash amongst others.
It’s unknown at this extremely early stage what version of the Titans the script will focus on, but it seems Dick Grayson is the one lock for the series should it get picked up from the pilot.
Stay tuned for more information on this potential new series as it becomes available.
