Get ready for ‘True Detective’ season 2 with a pair of new teasers as well as plot details and titles from HBO….
The countdown to ‘True Detective’ season 2 has officially started with the debut episode set for Sunday night June 21 at 9pm ET on HBO.
The new season stars Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn and Rachel McAdams along with Taylor Kitsch and an all star cast of supporting characters picking up after a spectacular freshman year for the drama written by show creator Nic Pizzolatto.
‘True Detective’ season 2 puts the spotlight on a high profile murder with three different cops drawn into the web of the investigation as well as Vince Vaughn’s character as the victim’s shady business partner.

“A bizarre murder brings together three law-enforcement officers and a career criminal, each of whom must navigate a web of conspiracy and betrayal in the scorched landscapes of California.
Colin Farrell plays Ray Velcoro, a troubled detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him. Vince Vaughn portrays Frank Semyon, a criminal and entrepreneur in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner. Rachel McAdams plays Ani Bezzerides, a sheriff’s detective whose uncompromising ethics put her at odds with others and the system she serves. Taylor Kitsch portrays Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and a highway patrol motorcycle officer, running from a difficult past and the sudden glare of a scandal that never happened.”

Finally, HBO has also released the synopsis and title for the debut episode of ‘True Detective’ season 2. The episode is titled ‘The Western Book of the Dead’ and the details for the episode are as follows — “The disappearance of a city manager disrupts a lucrative land scheme and ignites an investigation involving three police officers and a career criminal who is moving into legitimate business.”
The second episode debuting on Sunday night, June 28 will be titled ‘Night Finds You’. Both episodes are directed by Justin Lin as well.
The eight episode second season of ‘True Detective’ kicks off next Sunday night, June 21 at 9pm ET on HBO.
