Check out the first trailer for “Hawkeye” as Clint Barton deals with the sins from his past as Ronin and a new archer named Kate Bishop arrives to lend a helping hand…
Perhaps one of the most heartbreaking scenes in Marvel cinematic history was the opening of “Avengers: Endgame” when Clint Barton aka Hawkeye was out for a picnic with his family but in an instance his life was taken away after his wife and children all disappeared during The Blip.
Thanos wiping out half the universe included Barton’s family, which resulted in him becoming a masked vigilante known as Ronin, who took criminals down with a kind of brutality that The Avengers would never allow.
Eventually, Clint rejoined his team, helped rebuild the Infinity Gauntlet, defeated Thanos and his family was restored along with the rest of the universe.
In the new series “Hawkeye” from Marvel Studios, which will debut on Disney+ on November 24, Clint has to deal with the fallout from his days spent as Ronin with enemies from the past come gunning for him.
He’ll have a helping hand in this fight, however, after Clint runs into an ambitious new hero named Kate Bishop, who took over his mantle as Ronin in an attempt to stamp down the criminal element re-emerging in the world.
Of course, savvy comic book readers will recognize Kate Bishop as a fan favorite character, who eventually becomes the new Hawkeye.
In this world, Kate is just trying to do good in the world and she finally crosses paths with Clint Barton, who wants nothing more than to return home to his family by Christmas. Here’s the official synopsis from Marvel:
“Set in post-blip New York City, former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.”
The new series stars Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, “Hawkeye” also features Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez.
