A time jump is coming to “Riverdale” season 5 but not before all the storylines initially expected to wrap up in season 4 are concluded…
The first trailer for “Riverdale” season 5 has arrived but just a fair warning this is really the conclusion that was originally planned for season 4.
A plot was already put into motion during “Riverdale” season 4 that had mysterious video tapes showing up all over town that first showed various houses being filmed but that eventually morphed into more disturbing images of past events being replayed with characters wearing masks imitating people from the town.
All of this was happening while Archie and Betty were growing closer and closer before eventually crossing the line between friends and lovers without either of their significant others knowing anything about it.
Sadly, “Riverdale” season 4 was cut short due to the start of the coronavirus pandemic so the first few episodes in season 5 will wrap up those storylines culminating in the senior prom.
Once those stories are wrapped up, “Riverdale” will undergo a major time jump with the series expected to pick up five years after high school graduation. What that means for these characters after they separate to go onto college and then return home again remains to be seen.
For now, enjoy the first trailer for “Riverdale” season 5 ahead of the show’s return on Jan. 20 on The CW.
