The first full trailer for “Star Trek: Discovery” season 3 has arrived as the crew tears through a wormhole that puts them in the distant future…

When “Star Trek: Discovery” season 3 debuts on CBS All-Access on Oct. 15, the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery really will be going where no man has gone before.

The third season will see the crew tear through a wormhole that drops them nearly 1,000 years in the future — the furthest ahead any “Star Trek” series has ever gone — and the world they arrive to is much different than the one they left.

A new character named Cleveland Booker (played by “Supergirl” alum David Ajala) informs Burnham that the Federation has nearly crumbled after an event known as “The Burn” where the universe took a “hard left.”

What we do know for certain about the future that the crew from “Star Trek: Discovery” will find is that the source for fuel — dilithium crystals — have become quite depleted and that’s put the entire universe on the brink of destruction as entire civilizations are fighting for survival with a shortage of supplies.

Of course, like all “Star Trek” series, the bleak future won’t stop the crew from finding hope in some form or fashion as they explore this strange new world and find out exactly what led to this moment in time.

Check out the first trailer for “Star Trek: Discovery” and then watch the new season when it debuts on CBS All-Access starting on Oct. 15.
