The first look at “The Handmaid’s Tale” season 4 has arrived as June’s fight against Gilead gains support with a growing resistance aimed at taking them down…
The end of “The Handmaid’s Tale” season 3 ended with June successfully rescuing many of the children locked in Gilead by sending them on a plane bound for Canada but she was ultimately shot while trying to distract security forces determined to stop her.
In the aftermath of that dangerous move, June will return in “The Handmaid’s Tale” season 4 with a growing resistance at her back as the fight against Gilead grows even stronger.
The first teaser trailer for the new season dropped recently with the first three episodes debuting on Hulu on April 28 and it appears June is finally getting a taste of freedom.
After spending the past three seasons locked in Gilead in some form or fashion, it appears June will break out from those boundaries in season 4 while still on the hunt for her daughter Hannah before hopefully being reunited with her friends and family in Canada.
Here’s the synopsis for “The Handmaid’s Tale” season 4 per Hulu:
“The cultural phenomenon picks up where we left off, with June’s fight for freedom against Gilead. But the risks she takes bring unexpected and dangerous new challenges, and her desire for justice and revenge threaten to consume her and destroy her most cherished relationships.”
Set to a remix of the Billie Eilish track “You Should See Me in a Crown,” June obviously has plenty of fight left in her but the leaders of Gilead aren’t giving up their power so easily. It also appears Fred and Serena are facing all new challenges of their own after being captured in Canada.
