Get a first look at The Midnight Club, which serves as the latest series from the creator behind The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass…
The Midnight Club, which is the newest series from Mike Flanagan — the creator behind The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass — will arrive on October 7 on Netflix and the first trailer has just dropped.
The series is based on a series of books by author Christopher Pike including the novel The Midnight Club while also mixing in stories from several other books as well including Witch, Gimme a Kiss, Road to Nowhere and The Wicked Heart.
The series will also feature horror icon Heather Langenkamp in one of the lead roles in the series
Here’s the synopsis for The Midnight Club from Netflix:
“Iman Benson stars as Ilonka, a high school senior on her way to Stanford University — until she’s diagnosed with terminal thyroid cancer and heads to Brightcliffe Manor instead of her dream college. At her new hospice home, she befriends a group of similarly ill teens who sneak into the library every night and tell each other scary stories. It turns out, Brightcliffe has a mysterious history and a hell of a lot of secrets lurking in the shadows.”
The series is set in the 90s and the song featured in the trailer should take you back to that era thanks to an eerie version of “Possum Kingdom” by The Toadies.
Flanagan, who has become a favorite among horror fans for his work on several Netflix series as well as his own films such as Doctor Sleep and Hush, will take his first dive into a young adult series with The Midnight Club.
The series will also serve as the first major role for many of the actors appearing in the 10-episode first season, which drops entirely on Oct. 7.
