Details have been revealed for the ‘Wonder Woman’ 2 script that will see Diana move from the 1920’s to the 1980’s…
Wonder Woman already faced off with the Germans from World War I and now she’ll be tackling the Russians from the Cold War.
As first reported by ScreenRant, ‘Wonder Woman’ 2 is currently being written by DC Entertainment President Geoff Johns alongside ‘Wonder Woman’ director Patty Jenkins and the duo are pitting Diana against the Soviet Union during the 1980’s.
The original ‘Wonder Woman’ film was an origin story where Diana left her home on Themyscira to travel with Steve Trevor back to the other side of the world where she sought out a battle with the god of War named Ares, who she believed was responsible for the start of World War I.
Not it appears the next ‘Wonder Woman’ film will follow with another period piece, except this time Diana will spar with the Russians during the Cold War in the 1980’s.
There’s no word on who would serve as the villain or what casting would follow for ‘Wonder Woman’ 2 but Warner Bros. does have an option for Chris Pine to return to the franchise after portraying Steve Trevor in the first film.
‘Wonder Woman’ has been a tremendous hit for DC and Warner Bros. raking in over $745 million worldwide at the box office.
