The upcoming sequel to ‘World War Z’ just landed an Oscar nominated writer to pen the screenplay…
Brad Pitt’s epic and sprawling zombie film ‘World War Z’ was supposed to be a disaster after all of the reshoots and supposed problems the movie had before ever actually landing in theaters. Then a funny thing happened — the movie was actually really well received and ended up raking in $540 million worldwide.
Now a sequel is in the works with Pitt attached to star once again while J.A. Bayona will direct the zombie film.
The movie also now has a screenwriter attached as Academy award nominated scribe Steven Knight has signed on to pen the project. Knight is best known for his work on films such as the Oscar nominated film ‘Dirty Pretty Things’ as well as ‘Eastern Promises’ and the highly acclaimed one man project from Tom Hardy titled ‘Locke’.
Knight will write the screenplay, which is a continued adaptation of the original book of the same name written by Max Brooks.
