FOX executives confirm ongoing conversations about ‘X-Files’ returning to the network while also hoping for another season of ’24’…
If you still believe the truth is out there this news is right up your alley.
FOX executives confirmed on Saturday that ‘coversations’ are ongoing currently about possibly bringing ‘The X-Files’ back to the network in some capacity in the near future.
The network is ‘hopeful’ that the show could return even in a limited format similar to the run ’24’ did this past year when it was repackaged as a ‘miniseries event’.
‘The X-Files’ ran on FOX from 1993 to 2002 for nine total seasons while also spawning two separate movies from the franchise. If the show does return it’s unknown how involved the original actors would be on the series. David Duchovny just recently signed on to star in the new series ‘Aquarius’ on NBC while Gillian Anderson is also on the peacock network where she was recently promoted to a series regular on the show ‘Hannibal’.
FOX also commented on the possible return of ’24’ following the success of the event series ‘Live Another Day’, which ran last year on the network.
Executives stated that they are definitely interested in bringing back the show for another year, but as of now nothing has been set in stone about the series returning for another season.
