Due to editing the only major scene containing Anna Paquin as Rogue has been cut from the upcoming film X-Men: Days of Future Past…
For those Anna Paquin fans hoping to see the True Blood starlet revive her role as power stealing mutant Rogue will have to wait around and see if she makes an appearance in the next X-Men film because she’s officially been cut out of the upcoming movie ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’.
According to director Bryan Singer when speaking to EW.com, once the final edits for the film started to get chopped down one of the scenes that had to go also just happened to be the only major one Paquin filmed during her week on set.
“Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous,” Singer said. “It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it.”
Singer has already laid out plans for another sequel called X-Men: Apocalypse that will film after the release of this movie in 2014. Whether or not Paquin will be brought back for that movie or not is unknown.
X-Men: Days of Future Past opens in theaters on May 23, 2014
