The long rumored ‘X-Men’ TV series appears to be a real possibility now according to FOX executives….
The ‘X-Men’ might be coming to a television screen near you sooner rather than later if FOX has its way.
On Friday, FOX network co-chair Dana Walden revealed that negotiations are ongoing between the network and Marvel to secure a potential ‘X-Men’ TV series for broadcast.
FOX owns the rights to the ‘X-Men’ in the film universe and it appears talks are already happening to make the transition to television with a long running series in the works.
“We’re in negotiations with Marvel,” Walden said on Friday. “We’re hopeful that we’ll be able to announce something soon. It’s something we’re definitely pursuing.”
‘X-Men’ has been a huge franchise for FOX over the years with several feature films and even more spinoff movies spawning from the mutant universe.
To date there hasn’t been a serious commitment to doing an ‘X-Men’ show previously, but considering the recent rise in superhero themed shows, it could be a major land for FOX to bring a series to television.
