It was always a long shot that Zachary Quinto would reprise his break out role as Sylar on the new ‘Heroes Reborn’ series but now it’s official — he’s out…
‘Heroes Reborn’ will relaunch the ultra popular NBC show in a new miniseries, but so far only one original cast member — Jack Coleman who played Noah Bennett aka The Man with the Horn Rimmed Glasses — is set to return.
Now you can officially count Zachary Quinto amongst those actors who will not give ‘Heroes’ a second go.
Quinto starred as Sylar in the original series, the main villain and — spoilers — eventually a good guy by the time the show ended its run after four seasons. While the chances that Quinto would return were always slim given his ultra busy schedule these days, it turns out series creator Tim Kring did reach out to him about possibly appearing in the miniseries ‘Heroes Reborn’ but he ultimately said thanks but no thanks.
“I’m not going back,” Quinto said recently. “Tim reached out to me when they decided they were going to do it. We had a great conversation. It was such a meaningful experience for me. I just felt like I didn’t want to go back to it.
“I’m thrilled that they’re doing it. I’m thrilled that Jack Coleman is going back to it. It’s a great thing to be a part of. I just felt like I need to cultivate other outlets for myself.”
Coleman may end up being the only original star to come back for ‘Heroes Reborn’ considering most of the series cast has moved on to other projects with full-time commitments.
As of now the only other cast member confirmed is ‘Chuck’ star Zachary Levi, who is set for one of the lead roles in the miniseries.
