Good Will Hunting teammates Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will team up once again to bring Ed Brubaker’s comic ‘Sleeper’ to life in a new film project…
The popular Ed Brubaker comic ‘Sleeper’ has found new life under the direction of best buddies Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, who have signed on to produce the flick through their Pearl Street Banner.
The DC Entertainment property has been rumored for production for years, starting back in 2008 when actor Tom Cruise and director Sam Raimi were attached to the project.
Now with Affleck and Damon on board, they will bring in Shawn Ryan, best known as the creator of The Shield, and David Wiener to work on the script for the film.
Sleeper is the story of Holden Carver, a reluctant man with new powers that makes him impervious to pain while being able to pass on the pain he endures to others through direct skin contact. He’s placed as an undercover operative in a criminal organization where he starts to fall in love with the dark side of life, as well as falling for a fellow criminal lieutenant in the organization named Miss Misery.
Think The Departed with superpowers.
The new film will start with the scrip written by Ryan and Wiener before heading to production with Warner Bros with Affleck and Damon leading the ship. No other names including actors or directors have been attached to the project as of yet.
