Paul Walker — best known for his roles in The Fast and the Furious franchise of films — died on Saturday after a car crash claimed his life in an accident that took place in Santa Clarita.
Walker was 40 years old.
According to numerous reports that began surfacing on Saturday and later confirmed by Walker’s reps, the actor was taking part in a charity event in the area for his work with Reach Out Worldwide when he took a ride with a friend in their car.
Walker was riding in a Porsche Carrera GT when the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle, and they slammed into a post or tree as the car burst into flames and both passengers lost their lives as a result of the accident.
A video that surfaced on TMZ just after the crash noted by an onlooker that ‘the car is in half, I can’t tell if anyone is in there’.
Hundreds upon hundreds of messages began pouring out on Twitter and Facebook after the tragic accident, but Walker’s reps took to his personal page to not only confirm the accident, but to let everyone know what exactly happened.
