Ben Affleck admits it would be a dream come true to direct and star in a Batman movie…

Ben Affleck is about to embark on a journey as the latest actor to play Batman with his role in the upcoming Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice film due out in 2016, but there’s already plans in place for him to star in a solo film about the Caped Crusader that he would also direct.
Affleck is already set to take part in a planned Justice League movie but he’s worked on a script for a stand-alone Batman movie alongside DC scribe Geoff Johns in a film he would direct.
Affleck is a noted writer and director in his own right and the timeline for his potential Batman movie would come no less than five years after Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, which was the final film in his famed Dark Knight trilogy.
“If I could make it work, yeah, obviously that would be like a dream,” Affleck told Total Film about doing a Batman movie. “The trick is, as to any movie, is to make sure that you — if you’re going to direct it — that you can make it good.
“You’ve got to have the right idea and the right take on it. Broadly speaking, it’s something I’d be open to, for sure. It’s a very exciting idea.”
While Affleck is playing coy about the possibility of the movie happening, all signs are pointing to the project already being in the works at Warner Bros. as part of their DC Universe film line that will also include stand alone films for Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Green Lantern.
The timeline for the proposed Batman movie wouldn’t be until after 2017 when Affleck finishes up work on his current project titled Live By Night and then the Justice League film, which reunites him with Batman V. Superman co-star Henry Cavill as well as Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and several others.
Of course anything and everything could change based on the reception Affleck receives as Batman in the upcoming film due out on March 25, 2016 but it looks like DC and Warner Bros. are ready to put him under the cape and cowl for a long time coming.
