Ben Affleck must be doing something right because he will write and direct a stand alone ‘Batman’ movie….
It might be an announcement that was supposed to happen on Saturday during the Warner Bros. panel with ‘Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice’ in the headline spot, but news broke on Friday that Ben Affleck will co-write and direct a new ‘Batman’ stand alone movie.
Affleck will team up with Geoff Johns — one of the best and most well known writers at DC Comics — to write the ‘Batman’ script.
Affleck will of course play the Caped Crusader in the movie and he will direct as well.
Affleck has apparently already started brain storming with Johns on a story with the dynamic duo likely to turn in the first draft of a script by the end of summer.
The new ‘Batman’ movie wouldn’t film until after Affleck films another movie he has slated for later this year titled ‘Live By Night’ and then he will be doing the ‘Justice League’ movie due out in 2017.
Following those two movies, Affleck would then begin work on the new ‘Batman’ feature film that would follow the character in the same incarnation as he will have in the new DC movie universe starting with ‘Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice’
