The first trailer for ‘Birds of Prey’ has arrived as Harley Quinn breaks free of the Joker but soon finds out Gotham isn’t safe for her anymore…
Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) is back in the first trailer for the upcoming ‘Birds of Prey’ movie — or the full title ‘Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).
The trailer reveals Harley’s split with Mr. J aka The Joker but she’s soon forced to team up with a new group of vigilantes to take on a crime boss named the Black Mask (played by Ewan McGregor). The new team includes The Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez).
‘Birds of Prey’ was directed by Cathy Yan with Robbie returning to the role of Harley Quinn after originally playing the part in the 2016 film ‘Suicide Squad’. While that movie was panned by critics, Robbie’s performance was one of the highlights of the film and it was a no brainer to bring her back to the role even if ‘Suicide Squad’ wasn’t going to receive a sequel.
Now Robbie is back for ‘Birds of Prey’ while she will also co-star in the upcoming film ‘The Suicide Squad’, which is a complete reboot of that film with writer and director James Gunn on board with production just kicking off on that movie.
