Director Bryan Singer loves to tease upcoming parts of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ on his Instagram and the latest is the inclusion of mutant seeker Caliban joining the movie…
It looks like Bryan Singer’s ever expanding cast for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ is still growing with his latest post on Instagram confirming that Caliban will be showing up in the new film set for release on May 27, 2016.
Singer took to Instagram where he teased a shoot at ‘Caliban’s place of business’
Caliban is famed mutant from the X-Men comics, who is also a member of the Morlocks as well. A description of the character from Marvel:
“The albino mutant known only as Caliban was recruited by Callisto, who had learned of his mutant-tracking ability and used him to locate other mutants whom she organized into the community that came to be called the Morlocks. Caliban was named by Callisto after the grotesque being in William Shakespeare’s play “The Tempest.” Living in the sewers and abandoned subway tunnels beneath Manhattan’s streets, the naïve Caliban found a renewed sense of family, but still felt lonely even among his fellow outcasts.”
Caliban also had his powers influenced and enhanced by Apocalypse in the comic books so it’s safe to say that might be his relationship with the big bad in the upcoming X-Men movie as well.
There’s no mention of the Morlocks in Singer’s post although that is the group Caliban belongs to in the comics. The Morlocks will also be represented in the upcoming ‘Deadpool’ movie with former MMA fighter Gina Carano playing Angel Dust.
There’s no word on whether the Morlocks will appear in ‘X-Men Apocalypse’ although given the fact that two members are set to appear in two upcoming movies it sure seems likely.
