One of the best new shows from last year, ‘Humans’ is set to return in February 2017 and we have the first trailer…

If you didn’t get a chance to watch ‘Humans’ on AMC last year, now is your chance to catch up before season 2 begins in 2017.

‘Humans’ takes place in England as humans co-exist with synthetic robots, who were created specifically to serve until several of them gain consciousness and become self-aware. Throughout the first eight episode season, the synths try to find a way to escape their slave-like existence while forces from the government and other shadowy organizations look to control them and harness this technology for themselves.

At the end of last season, the group of synths who first became self-aware capture the source code that will allow them to wake up other robots before dispersing into the wind to try and escape their human captors.

As season two picks up, Niska — the synth who left with the consciousness code — at large after committing a murder last season while her friends are on the run, trying to stay off the radar and away from Hobbs, the agent tasked with finding them.

Meanwhile, Joe and Laura Hawkins attempt to mend their marriage after being rocked by news of infidelity while still raisin their children.

The new season will also introduce a new character Dr. Athena Morrow — played by Carrie Anne-Moss — who is an artificial intelligence scientist exploring a whole new kind of consciousness for the synths.

Check out the first trailer for ‘Humans’ season 2 ahead of the debut in February 2017 on AMC
