The fifth season of ‘Game of Thrones’ is only a few short weeks away now and as the series gets ready to return on April 12, HBO has releaesd two new clips from the upcoming debut episode to tease what lies ahead.

First up is Tyrion and Varys, who discuss his escape from King’s Landing after he murdered his father Tywin Lannister and the motivation behind getting him out before meeting a gruesome death.

The second clip shows Jon Snow talking to Mance Rayder about his future plans after his Wildling army was defeated by Stannis Baratheon at the Wall to close season 4. Will Mance team up with Stannis in the new season?

Finally, HBO also released a bunch of new photos from the upcoming season including a first look at the new Myrcella Baratheon, who returns to the show for the first time since season two (played by new actress Nell Tiger Free). If you remember, Tyron had Myrcella shipped to Dorne in an arranged marriage to gain favor with the Dornish king admidst the war of the seven kingdoms. The rest of the photos released on Wednesday showcase Prince Oberyn Martell’s daughters known as the Sand Snakes. It’s safe to say they are none too happy to hear that their father was murdered in King’s Landing just a few short weeks after his arrival and these ladies are looking for revenge.
