It’s a sad day in the ‘Star Wars’ universe after Kenny Baker passed away this week…..
Kenny Baker — best known as the actor inside R2-D2 for six films in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise — has died at the age of 81.
According to family members, Baker had been fighting an unnamed illness for quite some time before succumbing to the disease just recently.
Baker played the famous robot in six ‘Star Wars’ movies including the original trilogy from 1977 to 1983 before reprising the role in the prequels from creator George Lucas decades later.
Baker’s co-star Mark Hamill sent out a message on Twitter paying tribute to his fallen friend.
