A&E’s highly anticipated back from the dead series ‘The Returned’ has found it’s leading man as Mark Pellegrino has landed the role…

During his days on ‘Lost’, Mark Pellegrino played the mythical Jacob where he worked alongside show runner Carlton Cuse. Now the pair of islanders will reunite for the upcoming series ‘The Returned’ on A&E, based on the French series of the same name.

‘The Returned’ is a story based around a small town in France that becomes haunted when a number of previously dead residents just start popping up, alive and well, as if nothing ever happened to them. The consequence of their sudden reappearance blows through several families and people in town, who had moved on since their tragic passings.

Pellegrino will star in the lead role of the series as Jack, father to twin girls Lena and Camille, the latter of which died many years ago in a tragic bus accident before coming back to life. In the French series, Frédéric Pierrot played the part except his character was Jerome instead of Jack, although the twin daughter’s names remain the same.

‘The Returned’ was a critical hit in France and became such a sensation that the Sundance Channel in the United States picked up the series and aired in with English subtitles from the original French language drama.

Now Cuse will adapt the series and write the script for the first episode for the new A&E show of the same name.
