The upcoming sequel Thor: Ragnorok just got a little greener with Mark Ruffalo set to join the cast as The Hulk….
As disappointing as it was to hear that Mark Ruffalo would not be making an appearance in next year’s Captain America: Civil War, it seems the actor who brings to life ‘the other guy’ aka The Hulk will be tearing through a few more outfits in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok sequel due out on November 3, 2017.
Ruffalo has been rumored to join the cast for some time now, but it’s finally been confirmed that he will portray Dr. Bruce Banner and his alter ego The Hulk in the third Thor movie in the franchise.
As of now, we’re still no closer to Ruffalo getting his own Hulk movie — although rumors are Planet Hulk might be one of the Marvel movies pushed forward after The Avengers: Infinity War come to a close — but it’s a pleasant addition to have him join the Thor sequel from director Taika Waititi.
There’s no exact word on the story for Thor: Ragnarok but in the comic book universe, when the real Thor goes missing, Tony Stark, Reed Richards and Hank Pym team up to take a strand of his hair and fuse it with Stark technology to clone a cyborg version of the Norse god. The clone eventually goes off the rails and bad things happen.
It’s unclear if this is even close to what will happen with the film version of the story but now we know at least The Hulk will be around to face off with Thor (or his clone) if necessary!
