Spider-Man will officially arrive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a solo movie out in 2017….
It’s been years in the making but Spider-Man will finally join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War due out on May 6 but the new solo film starring the Web-Head now has a title and a release date
Spider-Man: Homecoming will land in theaters on July 7, 2017.
The movie is directed by Jon Watts with Tom Holland starring as Spider-Man as well as Marissa Tomei as Aunt May with Sony and Marvel co-producing the upcoming film.
There are no details about the story for Spider-Man: Homecoming but the movie is expected to take the character back to his earliest days in high school with Holland playing a younger version of the webslinger.
And with this new partnership, expect at least a few Marvel characters to pop up in the solo Spider-Man movie as well as Spider-Man likely to appear in a few Marvel projects including Avengers: Infinity War parts 1 and 2.
