The Amazing Spider-Man 2 won’t open until Thursday, but the post credit scene has already been teased with hints about the next project from Sony focusing on The Sinister Six…
Now before anyone starts screaming SPOILER ALERT be aware that The Sinister Six movie has already been announced and it’s no secret. Also, let’s get this out of the way first — there is no ACTUAL post credits scene in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’. It’s actually an extra you can go ahead and get right now with the Shazam app on your phone with the post credit song playing during the final moments of the movie.
The track — “It’s On Again” by Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar — can be played below and if you have the Shazam app go ahead and check out the extra scene from the movie if you want to see it.
The scene takes a whirlwind look at the weaponry that will be used by each of the members of The Sinister Six, which is expected to be the next Sony movie surrounding the Spider-Man universe.
The six members featured includes: The Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Vulture, Rhino, Kraven the Hunter and Mysterio. Ironically enough through all the different iterations of the group in the comic books, these six members never actually formed The Sinister Six together.
Now different reports have said that this grouping doesn’t necessarily represent the final team that may make up The Sinister Six lineup for the movie, especially considering writer Drew Goddard hasn’t finished the script yet. It seems highly unlikely, however, that these six particular characters would be teased in a post credit scene if they aren’t the ones who will be in The Sinister Six movie.
Reports have said production on The Sinister Six movie could star as early as January 2015.
