Report: Vince Vaughn In Talks to Join ‘True Detective’ Season 2

The list of rumored actors negotiating for a spot on ‘True Detective’ season 2 just got all kinds of money, baby…

The spinning carousel of actors and actresses reportedly in line for a spot on HBO’s hit series True Detective grew by one more today as Vince Vaughn is the latest name to pop up in negotiations for one of the lead roles on the show.

TVLine reports that preliminary discussions are ongoing between Vaughn and HBO, although no deal is in place for him to star at this time.

The upcoming season of ‘True Detective’ is expected to feature at least three lead roles with Colin Farrell also being listed as a favorite to fill one of the other main parts.

Vaughn is best known for his work in comedies such as ‘Swingers’, ‘Wedding Crashers’ and ‘Old School’ but he has had dramatic roles in the past including his turn as Norman Bates in the 1998 remake of ‘Psycho’.

There’s no word yet on how close or far Vaughn is from potentially joining the series, but creator Nic Pizzolatto has been very hands on in all negotiations as the lone writer on the series and with production expected to kick off for the second season fairly soon, casting news should start to leak out any day now.

Stay tuned for more updates as this story develops.
