Following a couple of weeks of rumors, Marvel made it official this week that Joe and Anthony Russo will take over from Joss Whedon to direct the upcoming two-part film event ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ parts 1 and 2 set for release in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
The Russo brothers joined the Marvel universe for ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and stuck around for the sequel, which is currently filming, ‘Captain America: Civil War’.
Now the brother tandem will take over the Avengers franchise with the highly anticipated two-part ‘Infinity War’ series expected to begin filming next year ahead of the 2018 release date for the first movie.
