Supergirl Season 2: Lex Luthor’s Sister, Lesbian Detective and Several New Characters Added

Supergirl season 2 will be adding a lot of new faces as the show shifts from CBS to the CW….

Supergirl season 2 will debut on the CW this fall, but the show’s producers are already looking to add several new characters to the cast including the sister of Superman’s greatest villain.

Lena Luthor — described as a 25 to 35 year old woman — arrives in National City to get out from the shadow of her infamous older brother Lex Luthor. The casting describes her as sexy and smart and driven to get what she wants. What does she want exactly? We’ll have to wait for Supergirl season 2 to debut to find that out. Lena Luthor will be a series regular role for the show.

Nick Farrow — another new series regular for season 2 — he is the son of a famous reporter, who immediately butts heads with Kara when he arrives at CatCo. The casting says that Kara might be able to bring out the hero in Nick. Maybe the name is a hoax for the casting and this will actually be another character from the DC Universe? He’s also described as a “brash leading man” so it sounds like he’ll be mixing it up with the cast quite a bit in season 2.

The Doctor — she’s the “diabolical” leader of Project Cadmus, who uses medical technology to implant prisoners with alien technology. If you remember, Project Cadmus was the place where Kara and Alex’s father Jeremiah Danvers is allegedly being held captive.

Snapper Carr — An old school journalist tasked with revamping CatCo’s news division.

Maggie — an “out and proud” detective, who has been tasked to head up the new Science division of the police, which deals with alien and metahuman threats. The fact that they put metahuman in the character description all but confirms that the world of Supergirl (aliens) will definitely be in the same universe as The Flash (metahumans) when season 2 picks up later this year.

Supergirl season 2 will debut on Monday night’s on the CW this fall.
