Sonequa Martin-Green — best known for her role as Sasha on ‘The Walking Dead’ — has been cast in the lead role for the new ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ series on CBS All Access.
Producers behind ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ have been searching for months to find the perfect person to cast in the lead role and now Martin-Green has landed the part.
The unnamed character Martin-Green will play will be a lieutenant commander on the Starship Discovery, which is a departure for ‘Star Trek’ series in the past, which have always focused on the captain as the lead character.
And don’t worry ‘Walking Dead’ fans — Martin-Green will maintain her series regular role on the hit zombie drama on AMC as well.
