Constantine will only be picked up for an initial 13-episode order from NBC with slim chances the show returns for season 2…
It appears the new series Constantine might be on life support after NBC opted not to pick up a nine episode back order for the first season of the new show.
Deadline reports that NBC has halted production on Constantine after the initial 13-episode order for season one. If ratings were successful and the show was well received, NBC could opt for an additional nine episodes. That won’t be happening now.
NBC does retain the right to still renew Constantine for a second season, but it’s not likely given the decision on Monday to kill the second half of the season all together.
Constantine is currently airing on Friday nights at 10pm ET on NBC while pulling in rather mediocre ratings. The average for the show has been between three and four million per episode this season.
