Vincent D’Onofrio has his hands full as the Kingpin going up against Daredevil and the Punisher but there’s one more superhero he’d like to face off against…
Marvel Studios have done a masterful job casting each and every character created in the film and television universe and that includes an absolute homerun with Vincent D’Onofrio portraying Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin.
D’Onofrio put on an award worthy performance as the Kingpin during ‘Daredevil’ season one and his unexpected reappearance for several episodes during season two was a huge storyline as he went up against his old nemesis Matt Murdock as well as Frank Castle aka The Punisher.
Now that ‘Daredevil’ has been picked up for season 3, it’s expected that Kingpin will once again rear his head to go up against “The Man Without Fear” again, but D’Onofrio has another idea in mind as well.
When asked recently which Marvel superhero he’d like to see the Kingpin go up against, he mentioned a certain web slinger from New York as the dream opponent.

@vincentdonofrio Besides Daredevil and the Punisher, what's one hero you want the Kingpin to go head-to-head with?

It’s tough to remember thanks to Kingpin’s iconic status as Daredevil’s archenemy that the character was originally introduced in the pages of ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ issue No. 50 as created by Stan Lee and John Romita Sr.
Marvel hasn’t crossed over much between the film and TV universe outside of references made on shows like ‘Daredevil’ and ‘Jessica Jones’ as well as vague tie-ins to ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ but there’s always a possibility it could happen.
Now that Spider-Man is being shared by Marvel and Sony, there’s always a chance Kingpin makes an appearance at some point down the road to oppose the latest version of the character played by Tom Holland.
D’Onofrio certainly has the star presence to go up against anyone on the big or small screen and a showdown between Spider-Man and Kingpin definitely sounds intriguing!
