Veteran actor Bob Hoskins, best known to many fans from his role in the film ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ has died at the age of 71.
According to a statement from his family, Hoskins died after a dealing with a bout of pneumonia while in the hospital.
Hoskins had been an active actor since 1972 starring in several TV series before shifting to film work in the 1980’s including his breakout role in ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’. Hoskins also scored roles in other films such as ‘Hook’ and the lead role in the video game to film adaptation of ‘Super Mario Bros’.
Hoskins had retired from acting as of 2012 after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease after recording his final role in the movie ‘Snow White and the Huntsman”
Hoskins is survived by his wife and four children.
