‘Sons of Anarchy’ Creator Kurt Sutter Teases Possible Happy Ending for Season Finale

Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter teases season finale may ‘make you smile’….

By Damon Martin — Editor/Lead Writer

Season six of Sons of Anarchy has been particularly brutal to certain characters as the plot has developed to see SAMCRO exit the gun running trade for the first time in decades. Getting out of guns wasn’t as easy as Jax first envisioned this season and there has been a bloody path of destruction left in his club’s wake as they try to get away from such a violent and unforgiving world.

But as we approach the season finale on Tuesday night, there are a ton of questions that still need to be answered before the screen fades to black and the reaper appears.

— At the end of the last episode we saw Tara escape with her sons to a motel somewhere outside of Charming, which means she decided against her deal with District Attorney Patterson but not enough to stay at home with her husband and his club. Where is she and where will she end up by episode’s end?

— Juice has been a train wreck all season as ‘earning his way’ back into the good graces of the club left a grieving mother dead and him playing daredevil with cops and cars barreling down on his life. Following a panic attack that led to Juice swallowing enough Oxycontin to put a grizzly to sleep, he confessed his biggest secret to the one person he was never supposed to tell. Juice told Nero about Jax’s request to kill Darvany — the mother of the young boy who shot up his school — and he was so sorry. Now Nero knows Jax lied and that’s going to have far reaching repercussions.

— Alvarez and the Mayans are back in the picture gearing up for war after Jax handed off his gun business to August Marks and his group. Now Alvarez is teaming up with the Chinese and moving a charter into Stockton, just miles away from SAMCRO’s back door.

— The district attorney doesn’t seem like the type to give up either so how will she go after the Sons now that Tara turned her back on deal that would have seen the president’s wife testify against them in open court? What kind of plot is she hatching?

With so much hanging overhead it’s hard to imagine there won’t be a few cliffhangers just as there are every season with Sons of Anarchy, but after such downtrodden and tragic 12 weeks, are we in for a happy ending to close out the year?

According to Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter, the one-hour and 45 minute finale that airs on Tuesday night at 10pm on FX will leave viewers satisfied and maybe even with a smile on their face.

“I think it’s a fairly satisfying conclusion to the season,” Sutter said. “Maybe it will make you smile — or not.”

Sutter also teased the season finale following last week’s episode where he also hinted at a happy ending for our favorite outlaw motorcycle club members.

It’s no secret that season seven is all she wrote for Sons of Anarchy so it’s possible that in a story that’s seems destined for tragedy, there may be a bit of levity in this penultimate chapter for season six.

The only way to know for sure is to tune in on Tuesday night at 10pm ET/PT and don’t forget to check out our recap just after the episode ends.
